Work is changing faster than ever.
AI is transforming jobs, and skills are becoming obsolete at an unprecedented pace.
The ResWORK Institute was established to tackle this challenge head-on — bringing together research and real-world insights to drive meaningful reskilling. As part of SMU2030, it plays a critical role in preparing society for what comes next.

Our Research Agenda
Resilient Workers. Innovative Workplaces. Inclusive Work.
The SMU Resilient Workforces Institute seeks to cultivate workforce resilience and maximise human potential by advancing research at the confluence of technology, management and public policy, and embedding such research into lifelong learning and industry innovations across Singapore and the region.
In a time of rapid technological change and shifting labour market dynamics, we conduct multidisciplinary research that advances technologies, guides management practices, and shapes policies to promote workforce resilience and inclusivity across Singapore and the region. In conjunction with a network of global partners, we draw on SMU’s diverse disciplinary strengths, including economics, computer science, information systems, public policy, management, organizational behavior and law, to craft the Futures of Work and Adult Learning.
Please join us as we strive to ensure continuing productive and fulfilling use of human capital by tackling transformations arising from advances in technologies such as AI and robotics, evolving work practices such as flexible and remote work, and changes in workforce demographics.
