ResWORK Launch: Happening on 20 Jan 2026!
About The Event:
As organisations and governments grapple with rapid workforce transformation, technological disruption and shifting models of lifelong learning, Singapore Management University is launching a new institute dedicated to advancing evidence-based insights on how work, skills and organisations must evolve.
We are pleased to invite you to the launch of the SMU Resilient Workforces Institute (ResWORK) on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
ResWORK marks a significant milestone in SMU’s commitment to translating rigorous research into practical strategies that inform policy, organisational decision-making and workforce development. Closely aligned with Singapore’s national priorities on workplace transformation and long-term employability, the Institute brings together leading scholars and practitioners to generate actionable insights on adult learning, human-AI co-working and the future dynamics of human capital.
The launch will be graced by Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Education, and Sustainability and the Environment, and will convene senior leaders from government, industry, and academia. As part of the programme, ResWORK will also formalise partnerships with an initial group of public agencies and business organisations.
Programme highlights include:
A panel discussion featuring internationally recognised scholars shaping global thinking on work, learning, technology, and organisational transformation:

Short presentations by SMU faculty awardees* of ResWORK seed grants, showcasing emerging research on human–AI collaboration, adult learning and skills transfer, flexible work, job motivation, and the labour market impacts of generative technologies.

We look forward to welcoming you to SMU. We would be honoured by your presence at this milestone occasion.
